Chris Helme & Mark Morriss + Support

Basement73 are pleased to present two legendary Brit-Pop front men

Basement 73 (formerly The Furnace)
Swindon town centre
Friday 19 April 2013

Chris Helme

Chris Helme, who first rose to prominence as the front man of John Squire’s post-Stone Roses band ‘The Seahorses’ released his brand new solo album on the 27th of August 2012.

Still rightfully remembered for the anthemic Britpop classics Love Is The Law and Blinded By The Sun - songs that evoked everything the 90’s stood for, the excitement, the culture and the bands that provided a voice in a period of political and social imbalance.

Mark Morriss

Mark Morriss is a singer songwriter who famously made his name fronting English indie outfit The Bluetones. Markfronted the four piece over a successful and fruitful 15 year period, scoring 14 top ten singles and 3 top tenalbums, whilst touring the UK, Europe and Japan.

Luke De-Sciscio

Focusing on the reality of life through the delicacy and beauty of his poetic lyrics, Luke De-Sciscio writes songs that narrate the fragility of human emotion. Honesty and integrity, passionate delivery and melodic intimacy make Luke De-Sciscio a refreshing and haunting performer.

DJ Bobby The Persuader

Spinning some upbeat and happy rock n roll tunes in-between the acts will be Swindon's own vinyl hero! A veteran of The Brunel Rooms in its heyday (One Love, Fruit Club, Frisky, No More Heroes, Biff Bang Pow!) and regular DJ on The 10K capacity Hub Stage at Glastonbury Festival. Come and be reminded what music on 12 inches of vinyl sounds like. Groovy!

Doors: 7.30pm

Tickets: £10 (Adv.)
