For all those suffering Glastonbury withdrawal symptoms or who have missed out on live music this summer, help is just around the corner!
On 13 July at Queens Park and 14 July at Wharf Green inSwindon will be part of Our Big Gig, which will see more than 200,000 people attend 330 free music events across the UK.
Queens Park will start their Saturday 13 July festivities at 12noon with local teenagers Charlie Anne and Rhys Samuel Bury performing alongside rockgroups The Ashen and All Ears Avow.
Dance instruction will be supplied by Tanwood. The musical extravaganza will end at 8pm with Oxford electric pop group The Scholars.
On Sunday 14 July in the town centre’s Wharf Green (under the Big Screen) Holmes Music & inSwindon will be hosting the event, with heaps of local artists, dancers and performers taking over the town centre.
It will showcase local musicians for audiences to enjoy throughout the day from 12 noon including Missin Rosie, Gilmore n Jaz, Nathan Jones All Stars, Josie and the Outlaw, Charlie & Friends from Dorcan Academy, Elliott James and Ovation Dance.
Plus there'll be FREE Zumba lessons with Pete Zumba and as a finale they are looking for 50 volunteers who will receive a FREE Kazoo to play in their very own Swindon Big Gig Kazoo band, headed up by Gavin Jones CEO of SwindonBorough Council.
