The Reggae Garden Family Festival

Kelly Jobanputra previews the popular Swindon festival which returns this September

The Reggae Garden Family Festival Preview
Old Town Bowl
Saturday 9th September 2017

By Kelly Jobanputra

The Reggae Garden Family Festival is coming back to the Old Town Bowl in Swindon for the seventh year this September and it will be delighting the crowds with a fine selection of artists.

The Line-up this time around includes a big range of respected performers, such as Twinkle Brothers, Raphael, Talisman, Friendly Fire Band, Lion Art, Tomlin Mystic and Zeeks.

But this festival isn’t just about the music, it’s the general overall atmosphere that makes it a fantastic event in our town. Gorgeous, tasty, authentic Caribbean food will be on offer from Moshan Grill and there will also be a fully licensed bar onsite.

Being an event for all ages, the younger generation has also been considered with activities such as a bouncy castle, face painting and hair braiding happening throughout the day.

Another real highlight during the festival is the art work that is on display; some of the UK’s finest graffiti artists visit the site and leave large pieces of art out in the open. Crowds enjoyed taking in the intricate details of the paintings that were placed amongst the trees last year.

You don't need to worry about the fact that this is an outdoor event as this is the sort of entertainment that doesn’t get dampened even if the weather turns wet. People were literally dancing in the rain last year despite some showers; so come rain or shine, The Reggae Garden is a happy place to be.
