Recipe for Murder
The Phoenix Players bring their latest show to the Arts Centre
Swindon Arts Centre
Wednesday 27 - Saturday 30 September 2017, 7.30pm
Now here’s a recipe you won’t find on “Masterchef”. It is being cooked up at the Arts Centre, Swindon by the Phoenix Players in September – a very secret (or should that be sinister?) recipe with a most surprising conclusion. All starts well – the mixture includes David Lawson, a research scientist, who is not a well man and his sister Beatie, who thinks that his wife Claire (Nicky Ashdown) doesn’t take proper care of him. Now add a visiting journalist Kit Kelly who suspects that Claire may be guilty of more than negligence….
Claire’s grandmother and her first husband both died in mysterious circumstances leaving her generous legacies; could David be the next victim on her recipe list? Mix in some cups of tea…but is it just tea in those cups? Who knows how the final dish will turn out? Suspicions deepen as this tightly-plotted, fast moving and often funny thriller moves to a surprising conclusion.
Written by J.D.Robins, directed by Sally Lovejoy and played by actors Colin Wilkins (David), Marlene Poole (Beatie), Nicky Ashdown (Claire) and, making his debut for the Phoenix Players, Daniel Henshaw (as Kit).
Tickets: £11.00
