St George’s Day fight night in Swindon - 23 APRIL 2010

 

The next big bout of boxing was officially announced at the Horseshoe gym today.

 

A bill on 23rd April 2010 that includes 7 Wiltshire boxers showcasing their local talent.

It was also revealed that new signing Craig Leadbeater will also fight at the event.

 

The 23-year-old Penhill star arrives with an impressive record as an amateur at the Penhill amateur club, having acquired an ABA Western Counties title.

 

He has been both impressive in the gym and possesses the right level of commitment needed in the professional code.

 

Craig follows in the footsteps of Kelvin Young, who has his third pro outing at the Oasis, and Marlon Reid, whose five wins have started to push him up the national rankings.

 

The popular Swindon-based Alicja Dabrowska makes a return to the ring, having just been declared the top female flyweight in her native Poland.

 

Three more Wiltshire boxers appear on the bill – Liam Richards, Nick Blackwell and Henry Smith.

 

Completing the card is unbeaten Lydney lightweight Chris Higgs who is looking to add to his unbeaten run of six wins without loss as a pro.
