Wacky Wednesday presents: Skambomamba Ska

SKAMBOMAMBO
Skambomambo is based in the Polish / German border town of Szczcecin and started when Maltese born Don Mario Cordina landed in around 1999 and fell in love with Poland and its people.

 

Todays line-up is a stage experienced set-up which dabbles in the ska/pop/reggae/rock genres for inspiration. Don Marios lyrics come mainly in English, although they also come in French and Italian and now in Polish.

 

Skambomambo is a must-see live, full of firecracking original tracks off their latest album Made in Pol-Ska and The Black Molly Demo, plus unreleased tunes. The band is also known for including cover versions in their live repertoire which have suffered Skambomambo damage to such a point that most fans equate these songs as Skambomambo songs themselves.

The band is not a mainstream band, yet in Ska, reggae and underground circles the band enjoys a huge following and fanbase throughout Poland and wherever they have performed beyond, mainly The Ukraine, Hungary and Germany amongst others.

The main attraction is the music itself, plus the brass section and the crazy but imposing Don Mario. For technical purposes, a Skambomambo performance lasts up to 120 minutes on average.
