Sylvain Chomet (Belleville Rendezvous) directs this hand-drawn animated feature based on a script written by Jacques Tati in 1956, but never produced.

The storyline is set in the late 1950s, when an ageing Paris illusionist is finding it hard to find an audience in his home city for his card tricks and rabbit-out-of-a-hat routines, and so takes to the road in the hope of earning a living elsewhere.

His travels take him to an isolated community in Scotland, where he meets a girl who is convinced that he is a real magician.

A special bond develops between them that changes both their lives….

Tickets will probably be available at the venue on the day, but some venues are small, therefore advance booking is recommended.
