Stephen Wynn
STEPHEN WYNN – talks about Two Sons in a War Zone. What do parents feel when their children, as young soldiers, go to war?
What does anyone do, when friends and lovers become soldiers and are sent to do their duty?
There is huge public support for the military, and, as witnessed locally in Wootton Bassett, great sympathy for those who suffer loss. But do we really have any idea what their nearest and dearest go through when the troops are away?
In his sensitive, tough, and honest book, Two Sons in a War Zone, Stephen Wynn tells the story of his two sons, why they joined up, how they relate to their work, and quotes from their own letters and writings.
During their first tour of duty, both sons were injured.
As Stephen puts it, ‘Though they were seen as soldiers and men, to me they were still boys, and they would be facing other boys, who would shoot at them.’
