Swindon Speakers Short Story Competition

SWINDON SPEAKERS SHORT STORY COMPETITION!

This is what happens.............

Short story writers who want to have a go, must apply to enter as soon as possible.

On the night, competing writers are called up on stage to speak, read, or tell their story.

They will have no more than five minutes each.

Though there may well be moments of seriousness, nervousness, and puzzlement, a spirit of wonder, wit, and good humour will prevail!

Kindly judges, from the Swindon Speakers Club and including the evening’s guest authors David Constantine and Stuart Evers, will do their duty.

Key factors for their consideration will be story content and story delivery, including pitch, pace, and clarity.

Whatever their fate, all competitors can expect a rush of adrenalin, a captive audience, and roars of applause, or at least polite clapping.

But only three short story writers will get prizes, one of whom will become the first Swindon Speakers Short Story Competition winner, and carry off the bubbly-filled trophy!
