SUBSTANCE; a curated group exhibition seeking to capture the essence of an important 20th Century female figure.

The exhibition will provide innovative, colourful art that explores pattern and surface quality considering the historical and social aspects of textiles by using a diverse range of contemporary materials such as wire, wood, metal, paint, stitch, cloth, knitting, weaving and lace work.

The aim is to reveal a sense of self and Identity finding connections between the tactile and touching quality of textiles to express emotion.

The intention of SUBSTANCE is to highlight the importance of textile art and promote local artists.
