Trail Riding Skills
Whether you’re a regular rider but trail centre virgin who wants
to prepare for their first visit or you’ve been but want to be
faster/smoother/safer, this course is for you.
Led by a qualified mountain bike instructor, all the intermediate
skills required to maximise your enjoyment of trail riding are covered,
including:
- Pre-ride bike safety checks
- Better bike set-up
- Advanced riding position
- Front wheel lifts
- Rear wheel lifts
- Bunny hops
- Drop-offs
- Berms
- Q&A and Advice
Open to those aged 16 or over, the course will be held at the Croft
Trail and last around 5-6 hours (finishing between 3 and 4pm).
All you need is a
well-maintained mountain bike, a helmet and a few basics.
You should be a
regular rider happy with the sort of things outlined in the Introduction to Mountain Biking course (if not, consider doing that one first).
Everything else, including specialist equipment, is provided by the instructor.
The cost of the course is £15 to MB Swindon club
members and £20 to non-members.
