Who Knows You?
Identity Matters - a talk by Martin Warnes at NRG Networking in Swindon

This shift arose because of the way people now shop, not just for consumer durables but across every sector - a shopping revolution created by the rise and rise of the internet. In this age of ecommerce, being ‘known’ is what selling is about and what every company should aspire to.
We live in a world where we are bombarded with more than 1,500 brand messages every day – but research suggests we are capable of retaining only 1,000 brand names at any given time. Clearly those who do not understand the imperative of needing to be known will have problems.
In our information log-jammed world the rules of marketing pioneered by Proctor & Gamble 100 years ago are just not relevant any more. Chuck away your 'How to' books on marketing and concentrate instead on determining people's perception of your organisation - make it distinctive, sharper, consistent.
