Roadhouse Charity Gig

Reunited Swindon band rock the aisles in aid of the NSPCC

The popular local band Roadhouse (originally Water Melon Crawl) split 12 years ago...

Now the musicians are back together for a special gig in St Andrew's Church, Shrivenham all in aid of the children’s charity NSPCC.

“It is the strangest venue for rock and blues music. The event was held last year and apparently they were dancing and headbanging in the aisles, including the vicar!’’ - Drummer Richard Leach.

The band will play a mix of rock covers from such stars as The Animals, ZZ Top, Lynard Skynard, Free, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, and some originals including an acoustic set by the guitarists and some Water Melon Crawl favourites.

The band are Richard on drums, Rick Whitmore on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Dave Housley, lead guitar, Bob Slater on bass and new kid on the block Nick Fearn joint lead guitar.

Barringtons Arms are supplying the bar for the event and there will also be a special ale produced for the evening!

Tickets to the gig are £5 and can be purchased by calling Rev Richard Hancock on 01793 780183.
