Swindon Literature Festival 2010 

New Central Library hosts literature launch

Once again, Festival frolics begun today at the official launch of the Swindon Literature of Festival 2010.
 
Taking place at the New Central Library, Festival organisor Matt Holland unveiled the new 36-page full-colour programme for the seventeeth year of the Festival.
 

Authors due to appear include:
 
Former resident of 10 Downing Street Cherie Blair with her book Speaking for Myself;
First woman Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy;
Broadcaster and train enthusiast Michael Portillo;
Voice of Radio 4's Woman's Hour Jenni Murray;
Aaward-winning science writer Steve Jones;
Writer and broadcaster Bonnie Greer;
Prize-winning poet Daljit Nagra;
Film-maker Jonathan Stedall;
Biographer Michael Holroyd;
Idler Tom Hodgkinson;
Campaigners Bruce Kent and Peter Tatchell;
Historian James Holland;
Crime writer M C Beaton;
Ex-England rugby palyer Brian Moore;
International novelists Lionel Shriver and Barbara Trapido;
Writer and broadcaster Vitali Vitaliev;
Philosopher A C Grayling for the country's first Think Slam;
Hilarious historian John O’Farrell;
Author Paul Burston;
Shakespeare expert with his latest book on love, sex, and the Bard, Stanley Wells;
Punster and comedian Milton Jones; actor raconteur Maureen Lipman; Poet and memoir writer Joanne Limburg;
Literary horror author Tariq Goddard;
And Saturday Live poet Matt Harvey.
