Swindon town centre transformed into a haven of sport
From soccer to surf-boarding, cricket to golf, speedway to rugby - Swindon town centre was transformed into a haven of sport.
The weekend was part of inSwindon's Festival of Sport which included live demonstrations, taster sessions competitions plus the opportunity to try items from the huge range of sporting and leisure equipment available in specialist shops.
Swindon Town Football Club, along with stars from the Wildcats ice hockey and Swindon Robins speedway teams all took part too.
"it's been a great weekend with the focus being on family fun," commented Suzy Johnson, from inSwindon, who manage Swindon town centre.
"The festival has been a great opportunity for members of the public to try a variety of sporting activities that they may not normally try."
Three of the country’s most talented “keepie uppy” experts – Macca, Ash and Lubz – were also on hand to demonstrate their staggering skills and gravity defying stunts as part of a new freestyle football team.
Swindon Robins had a “Beat the Starter” facility where the public tested their reaction times in starting speedway bikes.
