Swindon Film Festival launch 

2010 film launch in the Around the World in 80 Hours theme

 

Film lovers got the chance to watch a variety of motion pictures from different locations across Swindon this weekend.

 

It was all part of the Swindon Film Festival that showed a variety of films in their theme of "AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 HOURS".

At the launch the big screen in Wharf Green showed a variety of movies such as the classic French film Red Balloon, as well a selection of TV favourites, including The Clangers and Bagpuss.

 

 
"The festival is a great way to celebrate, through film, the extraordinary and fascinating diversity of the world we live in," commented Mike Pringle, head of Swindon Cultural Partnership.

 

"It's also a great opportunity for people to reflect a little on some of the pressures facing us all today."
