New Season Full Of Theatrical Treats!

Wyvern Theatre reveals entertainment treats for the summer and beyond

The new Swindon Theatres season brochure is being released this weekend and promises a whole array of theatrical and live entertainment treats to please the whole family over the summer and in the run up to Christmas.

Gracing the front cover of the Wyvern brochure is the West End sell out sensation Dreamboats and Petticoats The Musical, which returns to Swindon this September for a week’s run. Musical fans can also catch this year’s Summer Youth Project production of Summer Holiday, which will feature 150 young people both on and back stage and runs from Thu 24 – Sat 26 August. At the Arts Centre, Chocolate Theatre present Priscilla Queen Of The Desert at the end of June and Ray Dance and Judith Sharp bring their production of Fiddler On The Roof in July.

Family Fun Day on 28 October

For younger audiences, the makers of Peppa Pig will be bringing the BAFTA award-winning Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom live on stage in July and promise an exciting magical and interactive adventure. During October half term you’ll be spoilt for choice with A production of The Night Pirates, Sid from Cbeebies and the Wyvern’s own free Family Fun Day on Sat 28 October.

If Drama is your thing, don’t miss TS Theatre’s take on Great Expectations which is at the Wyvern for just one night on Mon 11 September and Noel Coward’s Private Lives from Thu 5 – Sat 7 October. The Arts Centre also has a sterling offering with productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, A Doll’s House and A Christmas Carol throughout the season.

Across the Comedy and Live Music spectrums, the theatres continue to pull in big names and you can catch the likes of The Overtones, Showaddywaddy, Lee Nelson, Paul Zerdin, Ed Byrne, Jan Ravens, and Jason Donovan to name a few!

As well as all this, there’s Opera, Ballet, Comedy Dining Events, Children’s parties, Strictly stars and much more. Not forgetting the highlight of Swindon’s Christmas calendar, the Wyvern’s annual Pantomime, which this year is the high-flying Peter Pan starring Adam Woodyatt.

If the new brochure doesn’t land on your doormat this weekend, pop into the Wyvern or Arts Centre to grab your copy, or simply head to swindontheatres.co.uk where you can view and book all events at ease.
