Skip 'Little Axe' McDonald at the Arts Centre

Skip McDonald was born in 1949, Dayton, Ohio in the USA. He first picked up a guitar at the age of 8. He learned to play on his fathers guitar at this very early age, on which he learned blues music.

 

Skip has played with the likes of Wilson Picket, George Clinton and James Brown. He has also been a session guitarist for Sugar Hill Records.

 

Skip now returns to Ohio blues, which he learnt from his father. Ohio blues is raw, stripped down and intense. The acoustic tradition of the blues crashes into the 21st century with Skip’s use of effects that create his unique brand of Dub Gospel blues.
