For more than half a century, the view that radiation represents an extreme hazard has been accepted. However, it has been shown that radiation is about one thousand times less hazardous than suggested by current safety standards.

 

With a background in experimental particle physics, including experiments on quarks at CERN and on neutrinos in the USA, writer, lecturer and tutor at the University of Oxford, Professor Wade Allison is author of Radiation and Reason, a clear, positive and accessible scientific account of the effect of radiation on life.
