Ali McNamara and Jane Costello at the Arts Centre

On romantic comedy, chick lit, chic lit, and maybe even choc lit

Arts Centre
Swindon
Tuesday 15 May 2012

Rom com offers a great deal more than just romance and comedy.

From the keyboard of a good writer, it can shine a light on the shadier sides of tricky relationships in the twenty-first century, when looks, laughter, and libido all come under subtle scrutiny. The best bits are up for grabs.

Award-winning rom com writer, former editor of the Liverpool Daily Post in her late twenties, and Sunday Times Top Ten best-selling author of five novels, Jane Costello knows how to tell and write a good romantic story that has universal appeal.

Her books have been translated into 16 languages. Former fitness instructor, fond of champagne truffles, and lover of high heels and posh frocks.

Ali McNamara also knows how to write a bit. Author already of two tauntingly-titled best-selling rom coms, it looks like Ali’s going give us one or two more.
