Magazine & Great War Centenary Launch

Great turn out for Swindon Heritage exhibition at Radnor Street Cemetry - WATCH VIDEOS 

 

If you haven't already picked up a copy, Swindon Heritage is a brand-new magazine that celebrates everything about Swindon's great history.

 

Packed with features, articles, photos and fascinating insights into our town's rich heritage, the third edition was launched at an special exhibition at Radnor Street cemetry today.

 

The magazine team plus other local historians were at the chapel for a day showcasing what's in store plus there was music, Christmas gifts on sale and book signings.

 

Visitors included South Swindon MP Robert Buckland and the leader of Swindon Borough Council, David Renard.

 

Great War Centenary Project

 

This event also coincided with the start of a project to mark the centenary of the start of the Great War in 1914 with a talk and display.

The winter issue is also the first that features a new partnership between Swindon Heritage magazine and SwindonWebTV, where we have combined to bring you new, short films explaining Swindon's history on video.

 

This month includes two videos on Swindon’s trams and plans to transform the fortunes of the Corn Exchange in Old Town.

 

It's a new, exciting project we're delighted to be a part of.
