Santa Gears Up For Christmas

Sunday might have been a day of rest for Rudolph and co, but that didn't stop dozens of Santas hopping on their bikes at Lydiard
 

People across the county were encouraged to hop on their bikes for a festive ride on Sunday.

 

Taking place at Lydiard Park, the Cycling Santas & Reindeer Riders Family Ride was organised by Sustrans to encourage families to get out on their bicycles this winter, as well as raise money for the National Cycle Network, part of which runs right through Swindon.

 

Participants were given Santa costumes (for adults) and reindeer antlers (for children) to wear as they cycled around the park.

 

Those taking part were even encouraged to 'bling' their bikes with glistening tinsel and other sparkling Christmas decorations, with a prize for the best one on the day.
