Review of Grease
by Kelly Jobanputra
Having an open air cinema event in the UK is always going to be risky when you have our climate to consider, but when Grease came to Lydiard Park last Saturday - there were definitely no problems in that department.
The weather was dry, the atmosphere was full of excitement and the placing of everything was spot on. (The large screen was positioned in front of the house, with an impressive sound system.)
A bar was available on site and as the film started, a little after schedule, people continued to tuck into their picnic baskets and crack open some bubbly. They also enjoyed the free popcorn and cookies that were handed out as you first arrived!
The company behind this event, The Luna Cinema, made for a warm welcome to the evening by getting the crowd geared up before the start of the film.

The audience, which was full of a scattering of pink ladies, really became animated as soon as Grease started and i'm sure their sing-a-long to all of the tracks could be heard for miles around.
The vast majority of spectators came to the field equipped with fold up seats but as the music flowed, several people started dancing in any available space.
The Audience represented every age group and they all stayed until the end of this classic film.
As the evening got darker and the stars came out, it really was a beautiful setting to watch a truly fun and timeless movie.
Despite it obviously being more expensive than just going to the cinema, it was definitely worth the extra pennies.
