Blossoms, beetroots, bonsais and beekeeping are on show at Stanton Park today, despite the weather.
And organisers of the Swindon Garden Show insist they won't let the rain ruin the event, which continues over the weekend.
'There's loads here to see and do, come rain or shine,' said organiser Jaquie Sheppard.
'The weather is such a shame but we're determined to make this first garden show a real success.'
Staged at the beautiful Stanton Park nature reserve on the edge of Swindon, the Garden Show features flower and vegetable exhibitions, show gardens, horticultural products, an arts and crafts pavilion, food court , children's entertainment and competitions.
Described as a celebration of country life and the great outdoors, s
ponsors of the Swindon Garden Show include Deacons Jewellers and Stanton House Hotel.
Seventy-five per cent of proceeds will be donated to Age Concern Swindon.
