Transatlantic Cable - Foundation for the Internet
Talk will show how the global revolution in submarine cable laying was started
Initially focussing on the transatlantic cable, this talk will show how the global revolution in submarine cable laying was started.
The talk will bring the story up to date by showing how without the early Victorian pioneers of more than 150 years ago, we would not today be enjoying global telephone calls and ultimately the internet.
This event is open to all.
