Swindon Festival of Literature 2010 - Joanne Limburg

JOANNE LIMBURG – on The Woman Who Thought Too Much

What part do rumination, scrupulosity, avoidance, fixation, thought-action fusion, fixed-action patterns, schemas, basal ganglia, tics, and synapses play in obsessive and compulsive behaviour?

Have psychoanalysts, neuropsychiatrists, and cognitive psychologists got their theories and interpretations right about symptoms of obsessive and compulsive disorders?

Prize-winning author of two collections of poetry published by Bloodaxe, and Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the University of Cambridge, Joanne Limburg has written a candid, moving, and beautiful memoir, which, in both its sad and humorous revelations, evokes the persistence and courage of the human spirit in the face of mental instability of the mind.

Tickets are priced at £6

DOUBLE TICKET £11 for two events:
Joanne Limburg 6.30pm and Lionel Shriver 8pm

Please contact the Arts Centre for bookings and any further information.
