Swindon Festival of Literature 2010 - Tom Hodgkinson

TOM HODGKINSON – on going back to the land and how history can help us find liberty.

What is the right balance between leisure and work?
Does the one enslave, and the other make you free?
What has urban life got over rural?
Does ‘going back to the land’ advance civilisation?
Any more questions?

Columnist for the Daily Telegraph and The Ecologist, author of three books, How to Be Idle, How to Be Free, and The Idle Parent, founder and editor of The Idler, a bi-annual book-shaped magazine which campaigns against the work ethic, Tom Hodgkinson once lived and worked in London.

He now lives in Devon, and will tell us what he thinks, what he does, and why.

Tickets - £6 (£5)
