Swindon Festival of Literature 2010 - John O’Farrell

JOHN O’FARRELL – on sixty years of making mistakes!

What has shaped Britain as we know it today?
What do you think of ‘the ruling classes’?
Can one woman be blamed for collective guilt and greed?
Can one political party be credited with acts of generosity and be responsible for collapse and catastrophe?

Former comedy scriptwriter for Spitting Image and Alas Smith and Jones, founder of NewsBiscuit website, participant on TV’s Grumpy Old Men and Have I Got News for You, John O’Farrell has spent more than forty years researching for his latest book, An Utterly Exasperated History of Modern Britain, by watching television.

With the benefit of hindsight, and the helping hand of humour, he takes an enlightening look at decisions that have helped shape Britain today.

Tickets - £6 (£5)

DOUBLE TICKET £10 for two events:
Peter Tatchell 6.30pm and John O’Farrell 8pm
