Ladies - are you up for the challenge?

Ladies Take the Wheel for Prospect’s Fastest Fundraiser - SUNDAY 26 SEPTEMBER

Prospect Hospice is asking wannabe girl racers and women truckers – or indeed any ladies who simply fancy a fun day out – to take part in its fifth annual Ladies’ Driving Challenge at RAF Lyneham on Sunday 26th September 2010.

The event, billed as the ultimate driving challenge, has attracted nearly 500 women and raised in excess of £50,000 in sponsorship for Prospect Hospice since it was first staged in 2006.

Split into a morning or afternoon session, the event sees individuals or teams of four take the wheel of a selection of fast, big or powerful vehicles in a variety of activities designed to test their driving skills to the limit, and in the process raising a huge amount for Prospect Hospice.

Picture yourself getting to grips with an HGV, reversing an articulated lorry, driving over rough terrain in a 4x4, getting stuck in with a digger, sounding the sirens of a fire-engine or maneuvering a double-decker bus...that’s the kind of fun you can expect on the day.

“We’re thrilled to be heading back to RAF Lyneham for this year’s Ladies’ Driving Challenge,” said Events Fundraiser Hayley Millin.

“I’m sure we’ll have a lot of women keen to take part in one of our most popular events.

“All the factors that have made the LDC so successful in recent years will be back again, with diggers, police cars, 4x4s and artic trucks already lined up. And we’re also looking to add a new vehicle to the event this year – so my advice is, watch this space!”

If you’re keen to register for the Ladies’ Driving Challenge, you can call Hayley on 01793 816161 or email fundraising&events@prospect-hospice.net.
