Michael Jacobs and Matt Holland

MICHAEL JACOBS – with an illustrated talk on a fascinating journey along the highlands, and MATT HOLLAND on life in the lowlands of South America.

The magnificent Andes, the world’s longest mountain range, have always fascinated explorers, revolutionaries, and seekers after wealth and adventure.

Paraguay, luscious, landlocked, and isolated in the heart of the continent, has also intrigued, attracted, and even welcomed its own share of characters.

Michael Jacobs, traveller and travel writer, is author of Andes, a book which reveals the secrets of a mountain range steeped in history, legend, myth, and spectacular scenery.

Matt Holland, Festival organiser, has lived in Paraguay, and written about it, in Paraguay200, which explains a few things about this lovely but little-known land.

Tickets - £5 (£4)
