Celebrity, music and dance kicks of the festive season in Swindon town centre

  

Thousands gathered in Wharf Green in Swindon town centre tonight for a Christmas lights spectacular.

 

The evening of music, dance and celebrity appearances was hosted by DJ Mike Read and included performances from members of Swindon Dance, as well as Ovation and Lynette Mutuota (winners of Swindon Talent 2011).

  

Special guest stars also enjoying the fun included Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio, Swindon Wildcats coach Ryan Aldridge and the Wyvern’s very own Buttons, Keith Chegwin.

 

 

Light display

 

The switch-on will take place at 7pm followed by video artists Illuminos creating a mesmerising projection artwork using the Big Screen and surrounding buildings in Wharf Green.
