Remembering Tami

Hundreds pay respects to local girl in sky lantern ceremony

Millennium Park
Stratton, Swindon
Friday 03 August 2012

Hundreds of friends, family and those who had met or been touched by Tami's story attended a remembrance ceremony last Friday to pay their respects.

From 7.30pm they remembered Tami's life with funny stories and speeches from those who were closest to her, with lanterns being released at 9pm.

In 2009, Tami wrote a poem to help raise vital funds for the Prospect Hospice charity, who helped to look after her in her final months.

Her hope was that everyone who read the poem would donate 50p towards their cause, and to date it has raised over £3600 for the hospice.

To make a donation, please visit the '50p Poem' website via the link below.
