Tour De Swindon 2014

Sustrans has organised a series of free events to encourage you to hop on your bike this summer

 

The Tour De Swindon gets underway this July to coincide with the Tour De France, with a number of great events organised by Sustrans - a UK charity promoting travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day.

Events include:

 

Cycling Pop-up Shop

Saturday 12 July

Brunel Plaza

 

Where you will find a French photo booth, static bike racing, and ‘try before you buy’ bike displays to really get you in the mood for ‘le Tour’.

 

There are also regular high-tech cycle orienteering events, treasure hunts, and led bike rides throughout the three weeks including:

06 July

Swindon Designer Outlet Centre

13 July

Swindon Town Centre (outside Vodafone, by the fountain)

10am to 4pm

 

26th July

Brunel Centre (near Sainsburys)

10am to 4pm

 

Sky Rides

 

Sky Ride Local offers local people the chance to join organised, guided rides of varying distances and difficulties – ranging from easygoing spins around picturesque parts of Swindon through to ‘steady’ and ‘challenging’ rides, for those seeking a little more adventure.

Grand Finale

 

The Tour will culminate in Coate Water Park for the ‘Grand Finale’ event on Sunday 27th July, with a range of activities for all the family, including face painting, bike smoothie-making, free bike safety check ups and security marking.
