Sponsored Walk for Spartan

Help raise money towards Swindon and Cricklade Railway's new steam locomotive

Beginning at Mouldon Hill/Taw Valley Halt
Saturday 28 February 2015

Swindon and Cricklade Railway is holding a sponsored walk for “Spartan” on Saturday 28 February; “Spartan” being the Railway’s new steam locomotive.

The walk, which is to raise money to help pay for the new steam locomotive, offers walkers the rare chance to “officially” walk along the railway line. Seven miles long, it starts at Mouldon Hill/Taw Valley Halt, and goes to Cricklade, returning to Hayes Knoll for a tour of the engine shed (if desired). The walk then continues back to Blunsdon for tea/coffee and a cake, before the final stretch back to Mouldon Hill/Taw Valley Halt.

As an incentive, any individual raising more than £500 will get a free driver (footplate experience) taster on the new steam locomotive.

For further details, or sponsorship forms, please contact Bill Daly on 01793 778110, or, daly1968@hotmail.com, or refer to the Swindon and Cricklade Railway website via the link below.
