Highworth Remembers

A series of events paying tribute to the people of Highworth and surrounding areas who gave their lives in the Great War

Highworth Community Centre, The Dormers, Highworth
Sunday 03 May - Saturday 16 May 2015

The Western Front Association and the Highworth Historical Society have come together to organise a series of events providing an entertaining, educational and fitting tribute to those people of Highworth and the surrounding area who gave their lives during WW1.

Rex Warneford

Graf Zeppelin:
brought down by
Lt. Rex Warneford
One of the notable tributes will be for Victoria Cross winner Rex Warneford who shot down a Graf Zeppelin over Brussels in 1915. The first man to ever do so from an airplane.

A replica of his Morane Saulnier plane will be available to view in the main hall of Highworth Community Centre, and there will be also be a 60-minute talk on the action that won the VC for Rex.
