Clean for the Queen

Help do your bit to clean up Britain ahead of Her Majesty's 90th birthday

Swindon is doing its bit for the Clean for The Queen campaign to clear up Britain in time for Her Majesty’s 90th birthday, which will be officially celebrated in June.

 

Swindon Borough Council’s Localities and StreetSmart teams are calling on individuals, volunteer groups, businesses and schools to join in at events in Stratton and Highworth.

 

The Localities and StreetSmart teams are also hosting a Love Swindon event in Shaw on Friday 4th March at 9:40am at the Shaw Village Inn which will be part of the Clean for The Queen events.

 

The Clean for the Queen National campaign was created to recognise that when she came to the throne, litter was not the problem that it is today. Food packaging, plastic bottles, takeaway meals and cigarette butts have all contributed to a growing mess that affects wildlife, streets, countryside and the country’s sense of pride.
