Central Library celebrates successful first chapter

Celebrating the £10 million library’s first birthday

 

Thousands of bookworms have been flocking to join Swindon Borough Council’s award-winning Central Library in the last 12 months.

 

And to celebrate the £10 million library’s first birthday, a special celebration will be held next Tuesday (20 October).

 

A series of events have been planned to coincide with the facility’s first anniversary including a children’s story time from 11am and after school activities from 4.30pm.

 

A cake cutting ceremony to mark the first birthday will take place at 2pm, while local historian Mark Sutton will also give a talk later on in the evening at 7.30pm.
