A Taste of Honey

Love and Madness present: Pains of Youth

Shelagh Delaney was just nineteen when she wrote A Taste of Honey, first performed by Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop in 1958 and filmed in 1961.

Jo's relationships with her irresponsible mother, the Nigerian sailor who leaves her pregnant and the homosexual art student who moves in to take care of her while she waits for the baby to be born, are chronicled in Delaney’s play which has become a modern classic.

This will retain the period and location from Joan Littlewood's original production, ie Manchester/Salford in the late 1950's. It will feature dance, period jazz and characters directly addressing the audience.

Tickets: £12, Swindon Card £11.50, Party Booking £10.50, Theatre Treat £10, Student Ticket £6, Early Bird.
