Shalamar to take disco fever to the Oasis

Disco supergroup all set from Swindon

 

Disco supergroup Shalamar will be bringing their groove to the Oasis as part of their latest UK tour.

 

The group, famous for hits such as A Night To Remember and I Can Make You Feel Good in the 70s and 80s, will perform here on 17 April and will be joined by special guests, British soul star Kenny Thomas and X-Factor winner Steve Brookstein.

Shalamar were originally created by Soul Train booking agent Dick Griffey and masterminded by Soul Train producer Don Cornelius.

 

They helped introduce ‘body-popping’ to the UK and enjoyed a string of hit records.

 

Double platinum selling Kenny Thomas saw two of his albums reach the top 10 in the charts in the early 90s as well as having three top 20 singles including Outstanding, Best of You and Trippin on your Love.

 

Fellow special guest Steve Brookstein launched his solo career after becoming the first winner of The X-Factor.

 

His debut single Against All Odds topped the charts in June 2005 and his debut album also got to number one.

 

Tickets are now on sale and are priced at £28.50 and £26.50.

 

The concert is seated and there is no booking fee.
