Swindon Festival of Literature 2010 - Lionel Shriver

LIONEL SHRIVER – on So Much for That

How much money is one life worth?
Can health and well-being be bought?
What is the fall-out of Western countries’ health-care systems?
Are we well off or well off out of it?
Can this topic be tackled in fiction?

Best-known for international bestsellers We Need to Talk About Kevin and The Post-Birthday World, Lionel Shriver likes to address the ills of the West head on.

Her ninth novel, So Much for That, is a deeply humane story about a crumbling marriage resurrected in the face of illness, and a family’s struggle to come to terms with the obscene cost of medical care in modern times.

Tickets £7 (£6)

DOUBLE TICKET £11 for two events:
Joanne Limburg 6.30pm and Lionel Shriver 8pm
