Swindon Festival of Literature 2010 - Sarah Thornton

SARAH THORNTON – on the world of contemporary art!

What is a modern artist and how do you become one?
What really goes on in art auction houses?
Is modern art now mass entertainment, a job description, or an alternative religion for atheists?
What is ethnography?

In her thought-provoking best-selling book, Seven Days in the Art World, reckoned to be the best book written about the modern art boom, chief art correspondent for The Economist, Sarah Thornton takes us on a journey that explores the most puzzling aspects of creating modern art, as well as exhibiting, promoting, selling, and buying it.

Tickets are priced at £5 (£4 concessions).

Please contact the Museum & Art Gallery for any further information.
