Swindon Festival of Literature 2010 - Richard Jefferies

RICHARD JEFFERIES – the Victorian countryman, with Rebecca Welshman.

Presented in association with the Swindon Cultural Partnership.

Eco-warrior, talented writer, or tragic figure?
What relevance does he have for Swindon and beyond, in the fast-moving world of today?

This illustrated talk by Rebecca Welshman will explore how Jefferies’ burgeoning literary reputation and exciting developments at the museum that is his birthplace, are giving one of Swindon’s greatest writers new significance today.

His concerns are as relevant as ever – today!

The Edward Thomas Fellowship are holding a guided walk In The Footsteps of Richard Jefferies on Sunday 9th May.

Tickets - £5 (£4)
