Old Town Christmas Lights '10
A night of festive celebration with David Hempleman-Adams performing the big switch-on
A bumper crowd descended on Old Town last night for the 2010 Old Town Christmas lights switch-on.
Swindon's record-breaking explorer David Hempleman-Adams - the first man in history to reach the Geographic and Magnetic North and South Poles as well as climb the highest peaks in all seven continents - was the guest of honour, and were STFC stars JP McGovern and Michael Timlin to illuminate Wood Street and the surrounding area.

A whole host of events took part in Wood Street including fire jugglers; a display by Success Martial Arts; 'Wendy' from the Wyvern Panto Peter Pan; a 'Christmas in France & Bulgaria' Folk Dance from the Tanwood Dancers and an appearance from the cast of Nutcracker, the Arts Centre panto - and Santa!
