Diana Dors, the "Siren from Swindon" was still a very young actress when she belied her dumb-blonde image by the compassion and sensitivity she brought to the lead role in this 1956 classic.

The film was inspired by the tragic life and death of Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in the UK. 

This is a Swindon Film Society presentation and part of the "Swindon: The Teenage Years" event.
