Boxing day came early to Old Town last night, with Swindon's Commonwealth gold medal hero Jamie Cox making sure Christmas started with a festive knockout.
The Walcot fighter landing his trademark left-hook to light up Old Town in front of over six thousand people.
"Another great night for Old Town," said Richard Deacon, chairman of the Old Town Lights committee, "it's fantastic to see so many people turning out to enjoy the event. Definitely our best year yet!"
Those who gathered in Wood street were treated to a full programme of entertainment including fire eating, an energetic display from Success Martial Arts, dancing from the Tanwood school for
Performing Arts and carol singing from the Swindon male voice choir.
Also making his annual appearance was Father Christmas, who
paraded along with his helpers from the Highworth and Cricklade Round Table handing out sweets and other goodies.
