Camilla flies into Swindon 

Swindon was by royal appointment today with the visit of Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall to Swindon College.

The duchess made the special trip in her role as Patron of Youth Action Wiltshire to officially open the College's new £17 million pound campus at North Star.

During her two hour visit, she met staff and students studying various courses including hairdressing, art and design, performing arts, business construction and engineering.

To mark the occasion, the duchess, who married Prince Charles in 2005, was presented with a bouquet of flowers designed by the college's floristry department and a gift commissioned from art and design students.

The Duchess left as she had arrived - by helicopter - which landed in Faringdon Park.
