Based on the exploits of the Von Trapp family singers and their escape from the Nazis in Austria in 1938, the show is sentimental and highly entertaining.
It is full of wonderfully memorable songs including How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria, My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Me, Sixteen Going on Seventeen and Climb Every Mountain, to name but a few.
