Swindon town centre was alive with the spirit of Christmas tonight as thousands packed in to Wharf Green for the annual big light switch-on.

 

 

This year's Wyvern panto & former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas was the special guest for the big moment at 6pm, alongside former X-Factor winner Ben Haenow, the ugly sisters, Best of Swindon Talent winner Phoebe Maddison & Heart FM compere Ben & Mel.

 

A fantastic firework finale sponsored by The Brunel Shopping Centre brought the celebration to an end.

 

 

Entertainment on the night also included Rock Choir & street dancing from the Swindon Academy of Dance.

 

Festive celebration continues on Sunday

On Sunday 20th November the main stage in Wharf Green will be 'LIVE' from 12pm, with the amazing Britain’s Got Talent dance sensations BOOGIE STORM - courtesy of the Brunel Shopping Centre.

There will also be a performance from X-Factor star finalist Jay James.
