Saarah Aalto rocks Wharf Green as the countdown to Christmas starts in Swindon

Despite a day of downpours, X-Factor runner-up Saara Alto didn't disappoint as thousands turned up to see the all-new Christmas lights switched on in Swindon town centre.

 

 

 

 

Saara was joined on stage by the Swindon Mayor Maureen Penny, Dai Powell the head of inSwindon, who organised the event, hosts Ben & Mel from Heart FM, singers Lewis Blisset & Masie Long for the big moment just after 6pm.

 

Festive fireworks

 

The crowd were then treated to a fantastic ten-minute firework display as the finale to an afternoon & evening of entertainment across the town centre incl. The Brunel Centre & The Parade.
