Fire station Open Day
Drove Road fire station in Swindon will be throwing open its doors to the public this Saturday (4 September).
The open day, which will run from 10am to 4.30pm, is being held to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
As well as seeing the various appliances used by Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, visitors will have the chance to chat with their local firefighters, watch a number of drill demonstrations, and enjoy a range of attractions.
These will include a community fire safety stall, cakes, refreshments, a tombola, face painting, a bouncy castle, stocks (a chance to throw wet sponges at firefighters!) and much more.
The Mayor of Swindon, Cllr Rex Barnett, will be visiting the fire station during the morning.
